THE VICTORIOUS LIFE 1
IDENTITY
In a dispensation of diverse doctrines, prepositions and vain assumptions carved out from human philosophies we must make a choice to stay with God’s word and follow through. Many have exerted their wills and call it faith making shipwreck of their lives and of those in their company.
Permit me to paraphrase psalms 11:3: If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do.
Paraphrased: If the compass is wrong, the sincerity of the traveler is irrelevant
I believe one of the scriptures that encapsulates the foundational knowledge upon which every other revelation is built for a new testament believer is in 1John5. This scripture is like the compass that guides a believer in that it shows him the pathway to continuous and undoubted victory in life.
In this episode we will begin with the first path of the first verse of 1 John 5
Apostle John by the very Spirit of revelation wrote that the very first understanding that starts up a believer in his bid to express the dominion of Christ is that he understands what happens the day he believes in Christ Jesus. There are of course many assumptions as to the intrinsic transactions that happens when a man declares the lordship of Jesus but if a believer does not come into this specific knowledge then his experience will be maligned. This is the foundational knowledge of victory as described by 1 John 5:1a
Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of GOD:
Amp version puts it better: Everyone who believes (adheres to, trusts, and relies on the fact) that Jesus is the Christ (the messiah) is a born-again child of God;
The moment anyone, anywhere, believes that Jesus is the Christ, he/she is instantly reborn in his/her spirit as an offspring of God. The amplified version used born again because that will be the second time he/she will be born. The first was after the flesh and now it is after the Spirit as Jesus described to Nicodemus in John chapter 3. We don’t become sons after we get to heaven, or weeks after our declaration of faith in Christ. It is instantly 1 John 3:2 says Beloved, now are we the sons of God. It is now, not tomorrow, not in heaven but the very moment we believed, we were reborn, translated and engrafted into the family of God. I know your flesh didn’t look any different after you confessed Jesus. You didn’t get taller, fatter or shorter but your spirit was completely reborn in Christ Jesus.
If you don’t know this, it doesn’t really matter how many hours you pray and fast your life will be void of true victory. When you see believers walk in sin, bondage and confusion you can always trace it back to the issue of identity. Many believers don’t really know who they are. They call God father, but deep in their heart they don’t believe they are sons. Do you really know who you are ? The devil knows this, demons know this, but many believers don’t and our victory is not in what any other person knows but what we know.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE A SON OF GOD.
We will be back to the later path of 1 John chapter one but to answer this question lets skip a few verses to verse 13 of the same chapter .It says; This thing have I written to you that believe in the name of the son of God that ye know that ye have eternal life. Eternal life is the life of God. If you believe in Jesus you are born of God, if you are born of God you have eternal life which is the very nature of God. 1 Corinthians 15:54 puts it beautifully. As we have borne the image of the earthly, so shall we bear the image of the heavenly. How did we begin to bear the image of the earth (flesh, human body)? Been born by earthly parent, and so we inherited a body and a fleshly nature. Now that we are born of God we inevitably carry His nature. Infact, there is something that links everyone to their unique parent it is called the DNA. If you are taken to the laboratory and your blood sampled and tested your DNA will be found a 100% match to your earthly parents. Flowing in your recreated spirit is the DNA of God. This life is called Zoe. No other class of being carries this kind of life. You can only be traced to God. You are not Gods look alike, you carry his very DNA. God cannot deny you because his life runs through you now. YOU HAVE THE LIFE OF GOD. The question is do you know? I remember the first day this revelation dawned on me, I was shouting for about an hour saying ‘’I have life’’. Your life truly begins to change if you come into this knowledge. The life you carry determines your possibilities. The life of the flesh is subject to fear, death and shame. The Zoe of God is the life above sin, hell and death. Do you know who you are? You are Gods child, carrier of his very nature. Have you seen that scripture that says he that is from above is above all. You are from above, you are above all, the devil inclusive. Do you know? This is not some hype and manipulative cheap talk. This is truth, life giving and life changing truth.
This understanding awakens a consciousness in your spirit and soul and revolutionizes your love for the presence of the father. You know you are not some adopted kid forced to call God father. You are His son by birth and life. When you call God father it means something entirely different now.
